Mpa Degree And Distance Education, Emergency Management Degrees

ECept Education > Distance Education

Q. I am looking for information on Universities that offer Emergency Management Degrees by distance learning.

A. Information on current and planned degree and certificate programs is available at: http://www.fema.gov/EMI/edu/. American College of Prehospital Medicine http://www.acpm.edu/ I posted this same question myself a couple of months ago. There are several schools listed on FEMA's website (http://www.fema.gov/EMI/edu). I personally choose the one at Jacksonville State University (http://www.jsu.edu). The title of the degree is Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Emergency Management. Cost wise, it was better then any of the other schools I considered (Oklahoma State, Hope International, Charles Sturt or Leicester). Though the entire program is not yet offered via distance learning, it will be within the next two years. The problem with U.K. DL law degrees is that they emphasize (naturally) U.K. law. Nice credential ("University of London, LLB") and all, but in content not very practical for someone who simply wants to learn more about U.S. federal and state law for everyday personal and business purposes. If you really don't intend to practice or use a DL law degree as a job-hunting credential, then one of the more thorough correspondence law programs may be sufficient to provide you with the requisite knowledge you seek. Other possibilities are bachelor's-level correspondence courses in legal subjects offered by accredited universities.
