Any suggestion about Play Driver Ed?

ECept Education > Driver Education

Q. The symptom you describe here is typical of a MIDI driver problem, not surprising as Win2K is relatively new and the Live's drivers probably haven't been shaken down thoroughly enough. Try deselecting every other MIDI driver in the Options | MIDI Devices menu, ensuring that Cakewalk is only talking to the MIDI interface on your SBLive. If the problem persists, try deleting the file 'ttsseq.ini' from your Cakewalk folder and try it again. If none of this helps, you may want to check in with Creative Labs' website (www.soundblaster.com) for updated Win2K-compatible Live drivers. Any suggestion about Play Driver Ed?

A. I'm also having allmost the same problem, running cake on w2k and an SBlive. The funny thing is, that if I load a soundfont and play it using the Keyboard app in Audio HQ, there are no problems. But if I play the same soundfont in cake, a chord for example, the notes get played randomly, some of the notes are 1 sec.!! behind!!. When I record, well, the exact same thing appears, notes very late on a random basis. When I play it back, well Cake just plays it back like I heard it, ie with the late notes etc. It doens't stop recording after a while or anything. Has anybody seen a solution to this, because it seems that it's Cakewalk that's having the problem, since the Keyboard AND Vianna work really fine...not that I can use the Keyboard app for anything usefull, though
