Education Q&A

Practice Ged

ECept Education > Continuing Education

Q. I am in Texas. Would like to get one or more for my homeschooled son. I know the state just recently changed the GED somewhat. It's OK if not quite current. I would prefer a text rather than a CD-ROM program. Any ideas? There is a lot of material for SAT/ACT test prep, but I find none so far for GED.

A. Have you looked at the Barron's series for the GED? Should be available at your local bookstore, they could order it, or from Amazon for sure. Thats the one I used 4-5 years ago. I found it at our local Borders. And Amazon.com should have it for sure. There are other books, and I tried a couple of others, but the Barron's was the one I liked best. Its a pretty easy test. Hard to believe that something like1/3-2/3 of the kids that graduate from highschool can't pass it.
