TEFL Training,can anyone give me some advice?

Q. If you have a secondary ed. certification in English, what is required of you to gain the TEFL? Also, where is a good place to find more information on this subject?

A. That looks like a simple question, but it isn't really. What country are you in? What country do you want to teach in, and do you plan to teach in your own country afterwards? Are you looking for a short course to get you a job overseas, or a course that will help open doors for you in a career as an ESL teacher? Do you plan to continue your TESL education later (e.g., a master's degree)? I teach ESL, and there are a lot of different courses out there. Different places recognize different qualifications. The only website I know of with info on a TESL course is at http://www.lsc-canada.com/teach/teach.htm. It gives info on the CELTA course, which is one of the most recognized courses for ESL teachers to take. It's offered at various places throughout the world. If you do a web search for CELTA and/or TESL, TEFL and the name of your country, you'll get info that's relevant to your situation.
